Friday, I arrived home from work at 6:10 pm just in time to change clothes for a visit with Pat, Michelle and Maika and her babies. Before we knew it we were rushing out the door for schutzhund club, which we did not want to miss a single minute of. Club training is being directed by the dynamic-duo, Ron and Chris. We are all in awe that these two men. Fortunately for us Ron and Chris decided to stumble into our fledgling club and didn’t turn right around and run out the door! Even more amazing they have decided to stay and be part of the club. The training session ended at 11:30 pm, early considering all we covered. Becky and Lies spent the night so their dogs could be xrayed in the morning. My favorite pizza place had already closed for the night so we had a gourmet dinner of Rice Krispies with sliced bananas for dinner. Then off to bed at 1 am. At 2 am Kira wakes me up to tell me that although it is 2 am, it is March 21st and it is her due date. I tried to convince her that sleeping would be preferable to having puppies, but she won the discussion. By 9 am, 6 of the puppies had been born.
Schumi (Jimmy – Funny) and Nikon (Markus – Kira) were xrayed and both were normal on both ends. Yahoo! Nick joined us for breakfast and somewhere between breakfast, xraying, and Noon, we saw the birth of two more puppies. Joined later by Heather and Tristan, followed by 3 visitors from Lincoln Park, MI. They visited with Maika’s pups and I invited them in to see Kira and her freshly born babies. My girls are so amazing that they allow me and my guests such indulgences. After they left I realized I had the same clothes on that I had worn all through the night and had not brushed my hair since who knows when. I am sure I made a truly memorable impression on them….
Final count on Kira’s new litter 4 and 4. Pictures to follow.
So in other words, you didn’t do a darn thing all weekend—couldn’t even bother to comb your hair!
Congratulations on your new litter. Give my girl a big hug. No wonder I’ve been thinking about her.
Now you’re disgusting! 🙂
I think you are right, the people from Lincoln Park seemed scared of me!
Way to go Kira and Julie :~) Hey, she is efficient! Sleep and fresh clothes are SO overrated :~)
Congrats on the GReat hips for Schumi and Nikon – ALWAYS a good thing!!
You are on a roll!!!!! BIG hugs to Kira and Maika – what good girls you have!! Now get some rest and take photos!!
Thanks again for having me Julie! The dinner and breakfast you made was great, I got my puppy fix, and Schumi was still slighty drugged up when I got home to give him his medicated bath!! 😉 I swear he looks fluffier already!
Excellent
THAT’S GREAT NEWS ON THE X-RAYS! CONGRATS ON THE NEW LITTER!! HOPE ALL OF THEM ARE DOING WELL. JULIE I THINK YOUR FEMALES WILL ALLOW YOU TO DO ANYTHING…
They are wonderful girls.
Yay!! I’m glad everyone is ok. I was starting to worry about her.
Thank you.
The temperament on Julie’s females is outstanding. They are by far the very best girls—EVER!
These females are great! I didn’t even think twice about going in until I was petting them or helping to re-arrange a puppy and then thought to myself “wow, they are not the slightest bit nervous or defensive.” Especially Maika, she seemed all to pleased to show off her litter and nuzzle with us. I think Kira was still in labor with the last two pups while we were there but she was smiling and was not at all disturbed by people quietly coming in to check.
That is because Kira was secretly laughing at you for getting stuck with one of her brats! She was smiling because she was wondering if you were going to fall for it again. She is very evil that way! I should know—I have Kayla!
Congratulations Julie! You must be exhausted. I don’t know how you do it. Can’t wait for the photographs.
Julie, congratulations on the arrival of Kira’s pups. Also to Schumi and Nikon on their X-rays. JH 🙂
