No Beagle here but…. we have three of the top four.
Kaline — age 5 years
Sophie –10 years next month.
Casey — 7 years
Everybody resting up…. their lives are about to change big time…. in 12 short days we will be adopting a little girl X puppy! I can’t wait — they’re not so sure.
Congratulations on your expanding family. I love that last picture – it is certainly a harmonious household – for now! It looks like you’re going to get lots of help from three older “siblings!”
Have you selected a name yet for the baby?
We are not certain of the name yet. We usually wait to see the puppy to see what name seems to fit. We are leaning toward some variation of Schatzi / Shotzie / Xhotzie or Xanadu. It is just tough to come up with a call name from Xanadu.
I agree the three older siblings will help! They definitely seem to help with the housebreaking — it is like they say, ‘Look kid, this is where we do it.’
You’re right, Laura – housebreaking was much easier for us. Our older dog lets out a single loud “woof” (not really a bark) as he sits at the door to go out. Little Dutch quickly learned to find me, sit there, and lets out a single bark. These little AT pups are so smart!
My 11-yr old Lab is such a wonderful helper, and is enjoying our puppy so much. One day, Dutch got out of the kitchen, and started to race around the house full-tilt. My maid was running after him, calling “Venga!” but Dutch doesn’t understand Spanish yet. She told me that Beaumont ran after him around and finally chased him back into the kitchen! Beaumont is acting more like a younger dog every day. I think Dutch is going to add years to his life.
Beautiful family Laura! I think the new pup will be a great addition.
They must have heard that the new kid is headed to town soon—better sleep while you can! Ditto what Julie said.
Laura, you have a lovely canine family. They all look so nice. I love the last picture of them all together.
I hope you post lots of pictures of them with their new little sister when your “X” pup arrives.
Thank you — I am hoping to post pictures of the new puppy. I thought I’d practice a bit. I need help with both my camera and trying to post pictures to the blog. Hopefully I will get faster at it with the new puppy.
LOL, little do they know how life will change! Congratulations!
Oh, this last picture just warms my heart!
