Today was a really busy day for the Gorbi x Allie pups. First they were individually temperament tested using the Volhard temperament test. Andrea and Matthew helped me do the scoring while Nick did the actual testing. The scores had minor nuances but overall very similar. All having the majority of scores of 3. It was fun and interesting and confirmed many of my existing impressions of the pups. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of natural retrievers in the litter! Sorry no pictures of the temperament testing as I needed to stay out of sight. After the temperament testing Amy did a structural evaluation.
Then the pups had a visit from Michelle and Pat. They worked the pups on the balance disks. Little yellow girl was completely in love with Pat, he nicknamed her the “little flirt.”

Yellow Girl charms Pat

The balance disks do just that, the pups learn how to balance and use their bodies and of course another new experience for them

Yellow girl: the big blue disk is too easy, the small red one is more of challenge.

Green boy gives a double level of balance disks. He made it with three feet.

Yellow girl says no problem watch me do it!

And she does! Psssszaaaaz piece of cake

I can even sit
Thanks, Julie for another super puppy fix! Lovely photos and great text. Little yellow girl definitely looks like a charmer. Could you post a link to the Vollhard test? I bet alot of your readers would be interested to know the specifics involved.
oh my gawd , they are soooooooo gorgeous!!!
What great pics! After going to Susan’s Puppy Camp, I am all about the balance discs!
Awww so cute! I would like to know the specifics for the temperament test. What does a score of 3 mean?
Yellow girl is so pretty!! 🙂 This might be off topic but I had a question. I’m reading a book about GSDs and I just read a chapter about the Sieger show and I noticed the name Eiko vom Kirschental. Why does that name sound familiar?
“Eiko vom Kirschental. Why does that name sound familiar?” Because Alta-Tollhaus is the Midwest satellite for Kirschental kennels! 🙂
Yeah, I recognized the kennel name. 🙂 I was wondering if any of your dogs are related to him. Maybe you mentioned him or something, I don’t know….
