Hello from the desert oasis of Bagram Air Force Base…..Afghaniland…..sorry folks….no golf courses here but there are plenty of sand traps…..Kelly keeps bugging me about pictures of animals for the blog, but there are few animals here. Besides a few stray dogs, sand fleas, and scorpions….here are a few of my favorites.
See how close to the mountains we are….
Animal of a different sort….a jingle truck….the jingle comes from the chains attached to the truck…
pallets for firewood….
poor donkey..he makes this trip about five times a day with a full load….
Sometimes I feel like the donkey…..
Until next time folks….unless the hyenas get me first….yes, there are hyenas here. Stay tuned for more pictures….

Craig and Kelly,
Thank you for your service to our country!
Thank you for sharing these pictures. I can feel the dust in my eyes. Are the camels wild or are they penned up waiting to be put to work? Like that poor donkey! The bus is unique, do they like the bright colors because it is so drab?
I am looking forward to the Hyena pictures, make sure you don’t get too close.
Stay safe.
Best Wishes,
julie
