Hi Julie – just wanted to send some photos of Chief. The two were taken last November at my Mother’s home. I don’t know why, but I really like them – I was always so annoyed with him back then, but looking back now, he was SO cute!
The others are Chief on HIS couch – still trying to perfect the Zucca eye roll. That quizzical expression is a common one—-like he’s really trying to understand what you are saying.
Take care, Kimberly
Chief looks so much like his mother, the second picture especially—the same expression as Zucca.
Nice photos of a beautiful boy!
Hi Kimberly – I love to see pictures of Ben’s brothers – especially of Chief – as he was one of my favorites! He looks great -and hopefully is being a good boy!
I will try to get some pictures of Ben to post – He’s still being a “puppy” sometimes – got out of the shower the other morning and the phone book was in a million pieces all over the house. Go figure.
I went to meet with a new group of dog trainers last night – and they have a member who works with a Search and Rescue group in southeastern MI – and she loved Ben…… was so excited about his instinct for tracking and enthusiasm for finding people……. Have you tried tracking with Chief?
Hi Karen- I have been wondering how you and Ben have been doing and watching for new pix of him. You and Garth were both so supportive of me when Chief was going through his naughty phase. He is doing much better now! The Halti was a lifesaver and since he has matured we are establishing daily routines which help so much. He actually can be very sweet and gives kisses too! He completely adores my husband. I think he would do anything for him. He still has his “moments” but I think the worst is over.
I hadn’t thought about tracking, but was toying with the idea of an agility class because he has really taken to jumping. He jumps over my legs while I sit on the couch so we have made a game of it. He loves to play and like Ben, can still be very puppy like. Now I know what to do with all my old phone books that keep piling up – bring them over for Ben to shred. Good to hear from you…..Kimberly
PS- my biggest problem lately is nail trimming. He suddenly absolutely won’t tolerate it and thrashes about like a little shark in protest. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!! How is Ben with the nails?
Hi Kimberly –
I definitely think that you should consider taking Chief to an Agility Class – it is so much fun – for both the owners and the dogs. And if he really liked jumping – he will think it’s lots of fun – I was at an obedience class where they had a tunnel – and Ben just loved it – you could hardly hold him back from running through it! Go for it.
As far as nail clipping – I am sorry to say that after reading your message – I went home and looked at Ben’s nails and went “oh no -guess I better get clipping” But to date – I still haven’t done them – He is actually pretty good – but a lot of times I just do a couple of nails one day – and then a few more the next. Worse case scenerio – you can have your vet or a groomer do them – sometimes it’s not worth the hassel of trying to do them yourself….
