Rudi did remarkably well during Tropical Storm Faye. He knew that this wasn’t “normal” and also Julie had gone to great efforts to wear him down the day before. Fay came ashore due south from us in the middle of the night, and passed directly overhead before heading Northeast across State. We had near hurricane force winds and very heavy rains. In the pictures you will get an idea of what our front yard looks like after 7.75 inches of rain has fallen over a short period of time. Lucky for us Rudi doesn’t mind going out in the rain, unlike Hilda who is too demure to dampen her tooshie. We had the opportunity to show Rudi some water deeper than his play pool, but decided against it when we got reports that there was heavy pollution in the run-off (look who is standing in the polluted water…the big dummy). Anyway there wasn’t much damage except for some landscaping and we count our blessings that things weren’t worse. Peter

Today is day #52 with no rain where I live in southeastern Michigan. We are experiencing a major drought with even huge 100 year old trees wilting and turning brown. As you might imagine, it is very pleasant to see all that water and lush green grass and trees. I’m very glad that Rudi’s new home and family are safe. Rudi is very handsome and appears to be growing into those huge feet of his. It looks like he is inspecting the clean-up barrels and disapproving of all the valuable sticks that are being thrown out.

Margot you nailed it! I agree with you—- Rudi does look like he is wondering why all the great toys are going out in the garbage!

Rudi looks great, so inquisitive! Like “what the heck happened out here??”

My first thought was, oh no…they thrown away Rudi’s favorite stick. My second thought was, isn’t Rudi a little too young to be assigned the task of taking out the trash?

Rudi wants to help with everything. Laundry, trash, dinner, you name it. I think he was a bit overwhelmed by the number of choices the back yard had to offer after Faye

Rudi looks so handsome! Laundry and trash are Schumi’s favorite things to help with also! Oh and I almost forgot grabbing the pillows off of the couch to help me fluff them! Yes, Joe, he did that once. 🙂 Whoops!
