Eyes are opening! They probably can only see shadows. Ears are just starting to open up the smallest bit. Today was their first nail trimming, check out those nicely trimmed nailed in the pictures below.
The puppies were perfect for their nail trimming—Faye on the other hand was not happy- she responded by licking their bottoms to try to get them to pee on me, she thinks this will make me put them down. The trick is to be a good puppy-holder while using your arms and elbows to “block” the Momma dog.
This was also the first day I had puppies upstairs. Normally I have the Mom and pups hang out with the rest of the family within a day or two of their birth. With Funny, however, I have to delay this adventure as she is a worry-wort about her pups.
