RIP Vegas March 16, 2004 – December 4, 2018
“With great pain I communicate that today 4 December 2018 at 21:15 pm Vegas left us. It was wonderful to live so much time with him and thank him for everything he gave me.”
Daniele Francioni – Kennel D’Ulmental
Today we lost a great one, 2x VA1 Vegas du Haut Mansard. March 16, 2004, to December 4, 2018. He was a magnificent dog, that only got better as he aged. As a young dog, I did not see his promise but the SV judges did. He was a dog that needed time to mature, they could see it, I did not. As he matured I went from “he is not my type” to truly appreciating him and recognizing his quality, to “my God is he incredible”. He was not a dog that matured quickly then fell apart, he took his time and continued to get better and better. He went on to be 2 times World Sieger, and came back at 10 years of age and was presented at a Sieger show, moving with the athletic ability of a dog half his age. I am so proud to have in my home Pepe vom Leithawald, a living tribute to Vegas. Pepe is line-bred 3 – 3 on Vegas and is very much an image of Great-Grand-sire Vegas. I can also see Vegas in his P-litter kids (Pepe x Inga).
RIP Vegas XOXO
We would like to express our deepest condolences to the passing of 2x VA1 Vegas du Haut Mansard. We will see him in his prodigy for many generation to come.
So sad to see a great dog pass. Nice to see such great longevity.
