On Sunday we went back for day two of the Teamwork Agility Trial. Aiden’s first class of the day was Excellent Standard. I am still having start line issues with him and as a result he knocked the second jump and therefore did not qualify. Aiden loves agility so much that he gets himself too wound up and has now started barking throughout the course causing him to lose concentration. We have a lot to work on.
He was still wound up for his second run which was Time to Beat and decided to make up his own course which included zooming through the tunnel several times. The spectators found this very funny as he is such a happy dog….I did not!!
This was another long day and the elusive Jumpers with Weaves class started at about 6:45pm. I did not have high hopes so I decided to put Aiden in a down stay at the start line to try to be able to lead out a little. He did stay until I released him and had a clean run. After ten unsuccessful attempts Aiden finally earned his first Open JWW leg with a score of 100 and 2nd place. From the reaction of the spectators you would have thought that he had just earned his MACH!! Most of these people have seen him come so close to Qing so many times with just one bar coming down.
A happy me congratulating Aiden on breaking the Open JWW curse
In-between classes Aiden paused for a photo op with his friends
Very nice! Smooth rear crosses. Aiden has good taste in friends 😉
Lies, good to hear from you. It has been a long time.
Thanks Lies.
I see your fly ball and training videos from time to time.
Hope all is well with you and your dogs.
Congratulations! The one class has seemed to be your bugaboo. Doesn’t Aiden have any male friends???? So in this one you have all jumps and 1 set of weaves? Are there always the same number of jumps?
Aiden is a “ladies man”!! It does seem that most of his friends are girls!
Jumpers with Weaves always has various types of jumps and the weave poles (6 poles in Novice and 12 poles in Open and Ex/Master) and can have tunnels. The number of obstacles changes with the level, Novice 14-16, Open 16-18 and Ex/Masters 18-20
Wow!!! That was so exciting to watch! What a clean sweep. He is truly a joy to watch in every event, and we are so grateful to you, Lynda, for sharing the videos and pictures of his competitive climb to the top!!!
Excellent! Your “congratulations” photo is my all-time favorite.
