Entry sent in just a bit ago. 🙂 I’m excited and looking forward to Qwendi and my road trip. 🙂
IMO, conformation is so out of my control….In Schutzhund…so much is training…not what your dog/bitch looks like. But…the end result is……what a judge sees in your dog on that day. I’m looking forward to Qwendi participating in the GSDCA SS….I hope she does well and the Kormeister will like her the best on that day. 🙂
there is a lot of training that goes into showing your dog….you do not have to train for it and let your grog get their training in the ring…but if you want to do well…you have to train and condition for it.
Ok….I reread my post…and will now backpeddle. LOL
I know that as QWendi gets older…there will be more conditioning….running/biking is just a part of it. And training for the ring will be part of her schedule.
I agree with Julie! There is much more to getting your dog prepared for the conformation ring than people think. Not to mention, how are your double-handling skills?!
Carole, I do agree with you and Julie. Like I said…I reread my post. It didn’t come out how I meant it. I am out of MY element as conformation goes. I know there needs to be training for the ring….along with conditioning and socialization….and being ready for the ring. I’m looking forward to St. Louis…and seeing how my little Wendi does. I work on her recalls and calling her name from different distances…to get her used to hearing my voice and getting quicker responses. Also, I’ve been working on slowly building her endurance…it’s much easier now that it’s cooler out. If you have any suggestions for us, to help us train for the ring, I would love your advice.
