Libby was entered in the Rochester Collie Club Herding trial Friday and earned her 1st Q. She looks like she enjoyed it. It was funny that the judge had to go get her after I had her in a sit stay and we walked to the end of the line. Libby looked at her like-hey, I was told to sit here.
The notes from the judge said;
“lovely dog! Tends to want to stop movement by going to heads-what a GSD was meant to do!
Congratulations! Libby sure loves her momma. 🙂
And her Momma loves her right back.
Lisa and Libby…YEAH! Thanks for sharing…I’ve never seen the instinct test before. She Q’d…what happens now? Do you have to pass this to go on further?
She looked like she was having fun…and wanted to be off lead with the sheepies. 🙂
Good job, Libby
She needs a 2nd Q to get a Herding Instinct Certified (HIC) certificate. This means she acknowleges the sheep exist & her instinct for herding them is there. The Judge said she would probably be a good C course dog. From the great store of knowledge I gained yesterday that is tending a group of 20-30 sheep, Holding them-keeping them together and moving them from 1 place to another. I’m sure Rich that has Singer would be a better info source. Knowing Libby, I think she would figure out a way for Ziva to do the running (at her direction of course 🙂
Congratulations Lisa and Libby.
Nice to see your video. Libby looks good.
