Blake (Dux and Pala), Ginger (Gavin and Hummel) had great fun over the 4th. The first day at the beach Ginger would go in the water but didn’t like to swim. She kept opening her mouth and choking on water. By the second day she figured it out – keep your head up and close your mouth!! BTW, Ginger got her CGC.

There was a vet at the beach and he was quite surprised at how much my GSD’s loved the water. I had to explain to him that they are A-T GSD’s!!

On Sunday Blake was hiding because he didn’t want to go home.

What is it about watching dogs play that you could watch them all day long? Looks like Blake has recovered from his foreign-body surgery, was it a rock or a toy? I can’t remember.

What lake is this?

The head in the sand picture is pretty darn funny!

Watching dogs play……..I was doing that same thing today. Amazed/enchanted/entertained by the things they do.
It does not seem to matter how many toys they have….they always want “that” same toy.
Usually I’m the pawn in the game..you know “go suck up to Ma, so the other one leaves the toy”.
Today, DuKe went after a completely different toy. He took it into his pool and just had a grand time with it. Pala, who has the “prize” chewed up JollyBall, watches him. And yes………he worked hard enough to get her to leave THE PRIZE…to see what grand toy he had….she left his poor Jolly Ball long enough…for him to get it back.
Now……..the coveted toy is…the one the other dog has. 🙂
They are so funny. And, it was interesting that Duke chose a toy instead of me. He must have known Pala couldn’t be fooled so easily! 🙂

Blake’s FBO was a hunk of a rubber ball that I had thrown out weeks before because it had started to break up. Obviously, I didn’t throw it out soon enough!! Dogs eat stuff and throw it up or poop it out and sometimes it lodges in their gut – it’s just our dumb luck.
We were up north on Lake Huron at the tip of the thumb. What a beautiful weekend it was and we all had a blast on the beach.

Super to see the pictures and videos of Blake and Ginger having so much fun.

Sorry to hear Blake had surgery but glad to see he is doing so well now.

Katy, your kids look great. They really enjoy each other it looks like. Sorry to hear about Blake’s bad luck. Glad it turned out well.
