Chris and I went to play golf in South Lyon, Michigan today and we noticed a Michigan War Dog Memorial. We had to stop. There were two big GSD statues. Not sure if anyone has been here before, but it’s pretty cool. I did a little research and found out that it was a pet cemetary, originally, but was turned into a war dog memorial. There are numerous headstones from dogs in WWI that passed away in 1937 or 1938. The cemetary was rediscovered in 2010 and there are some new memorials. MWD Buddy was a TSA explosive detection K9 and Sgt Mina served 2 tours in Bosnia and 9 in Afghanistan. Pretty amazing. War dogs saved 15,000 lives during WWII. Please visit the site when you have a chance. This is a great tribute to our Military Working Dogs. I’d like to visit here one day.
Isn’t it great? I’m going to email because I would love to volunteer.

Great site and great idea to honor all who serve. Thanks for sharing.
This was such an amazing place. I never knew this existed and it’s only 30 min from my house. If anyone comes for a visit, please let me know. Planning on going back soon with Chris’s good camera and getting more pics.
