Found this bird at Lake Woodruff this morning but can’t identify it. Reminded me a lot of a large Kingfisher in type, especially when it raised its head feathers. There were two hunting in the same area.
Found this bird at Lake Woodruff this morning but can’t identify it. Reminded me a lot of a large Kingfisher in type, especially when it raised its head feathers. There were two hunting in the same area.
Butorides striata. Commonly referred to as Striated Hero, Mangrove Heron or Little Heron.
