Thought this was worth mentioning even though I believe this is the last day of this sale.
Last summer I purchased the Petco Premium 2-Door wire crate (SKU 1281100) and I was more than satisfied with it. The wire is heavy gauge and the crate is solid with good door latches. It beats any of the premium crates that I’ve purchased over the years. For under $80 sale’s price and free shipping it is well worth it!

Hi Carole,
I agree, the Petco crate is very sturdy. A friend lent us the 36″ when we first brought Digger home. We moved him up to the 42″ but I think we’re going to go to the 48″. He’s getting so big, wait til you see him. He is just the sweetest puppy!

I see that they come with a divider so you can use them to start out with a puppy. What is the best size to get for a full-grown GSD? Thank you!
Brenda, it really depends on what you’ll use the crate for. Barb bought a 42″ wire crate that she thought she’d use to haul Syd around until she realized it is too darn heavy for her to lift into her truck. It also doesn’t fit through most doorways unless it is folded.
36″ crates are fine for short periods and easy to use for on the road.
I like the 42″ for sleeping as the dog has plenty of room. Garbo has a 48″ wire crate for bedtime and she could probably share it with a friend.
Thank you!
