I am sending Ilana’s room newsletter because if you read the third or fourth paragraph you can see what the class is doing with JoJo. When I get the pictures I will send them. Georgia made the school newsletter and is the talk of the school. Today, Ilana’s class decided that they are going to build a German shepherd robot. Wow! (D-Litter Negus x Cadence)
As most of you know, we are doing a study on change over time. We are watching a puppy named Georia (Jo,Jo) Rossi as she grows and changes. The Rossi (Ilana’s) family kindly brought Georgia for her first classroom visit. The children had the opportunity to feed Georgia, give her a toy, pet her, and then we measured her height, her length, and her weight. We will continue to watch her as she grows and changes. The children each measured their height and weight and they will compare their own personal growth with Georgia’s growth. We would like to thank the Rossi family for providing this wonderful learning experience.
My immediate thought was….What a WONDERFUL socialization opportunity for Jo Jo!! That is just super for her. Do they need more *learning tools*. Duke would love it. An entire room of little people fussin’ over him, the cute widdle, cuddly, wuddly red collar boy. 🙂

This is a great idea! I take my parents’ dog, Gibbs, who is TDI certified to an elementary school and it would be great to bring this up as an idea for them. And it could socialize the puppy!!
Hey Jennifer,
How many more days ’til you get your pup? lol
Terri
Terri,
Not til early Feb. 48 days to be exact. 🙂 we get to see them next Saturday, though! I’m so excited about training the puppy and taking her to my CPE shows to socialize. Now if only we could agree on a name! Any suggestions?
Somehow I just knew you’d have it down to the day! I understand completely. 🙂 What names have you thought of so far? You might just need to wait ’til she grows some. See what fits her.
Duke was going to be Daniel (Danny), then something else that I don’t even remember now..but Duke just fits him.
I like names that roll easily out….Emma, Ella, Elli, Eva, Evi…..
You’ll come up with the perfect name for your perfect puppy, I know you will.

My husband wants to name her Bailey’s Irish Cream (get it?? 🙂 ). He is a huge Notre Dame fan, especially since we live next door to them and he thinks the name is funny. The problem is, it doesn’t start with E and I think Irish is not feminine enough. I think we are both liking the name Ember and that is the front runner so far.
Jennifer,
How ’bout Erin?
Terri
Oh and if I would have been gettin’ an E boy, I had 2 names:
1. Eugene (Gino)
2. Engus (Gus)
Terri
Terri,
I think that would get confusing since my husband’s name is Aaron. They wouldn’t know who I was yelling at! 🙂
Andrea, this is a great classroom project! Please keep us updated on how the children do and add the photos when you can. I bet JoJo loved every minute of it. Sister Chica doesn’t get to see little children very often but when she does she is very gentle and just melts.
How about
Excellent (Lexi)
Esme (French, not irish and means beloved)
Easter
Elke
Ella
Eden
Elaina
Ellena
Elka
If they must be Irish
Enya
