This past weekend we went to K9 days in Moreland Hills, OH. It was a huge 2 day event to benefit Greyhound rescue. The day we went, there were are least 500 dogs in attendance! You could try dock diving, agility, lure coursing and lots more. There was a police dog demo, contests and all sorts of cool stuff. Roman and his new friend, Foster were for sure the stars.Tons of compliments on Roman…of course! I decided to give him a try at lure coursing. He’s never done this before, but has strong prey drive. We got out on to the field, I took him off his leash, showed him the bags on the line and off they went. He took off right away after the bags, but saw another dog at the fence and ran over to it. I ran after him, focused him back on the line then he took off after another dog. I kept running and running, putting on a good show for the crowd, I’m sure. Finally, on Roman’s last turn, he spotted a grill where burgers were being cooked and he ran straight to it. I guess I have to give him credit for being so smart. He figured why chase some stupid plastic bag when I can snag a burger. I think we’ll stick to obedience and herding.

Why chase a piece of plastic on a line when there are dogs AND burgers available?! Good boy, Roman! Awesome pix, Rita.
I bet people hold their dogs close when Roman is near just because of his size—and there he is with little buddy Foster. Just too cute!
Teeheehee, Roman is so much fun. That event sounds like a working dog’s paradise. Do they hold K9 days regularly? Love the picture with foster, and the Ridgeback photo as well.
It’s yearly event and this was the first time we went. People do grab their dogs and their kids when they see Roman. Little do they know he loves little dogs way more than big ones!
Sounds like a great event Rita. Roman sure knows how to par-tay!! Wish we had somthing like that here,,may have to take a trip next year!
That was awesome, good boy Roman! Definitely let us know when it will be next year, I would love to take Brody to something like that!
Oh Rita, you are such a good sport! Roman you are too funny and too smart to fall for a plastic bag as a bunny.
Rita I love the picture of Roman’s tongue sticking out at the Ridgeback! I know Lily wouldn’t follow a paper bag….unless maybe there was a baby bunny in it! Ha! Ha!
What a fun day out with Roman. He is such a good boy. He and Foster are so cute together!
HMMM-plastic bag vs hamburgers on a grill. GSD are for sure thinking dogs. I love the David and Goliath shot with Foster.
