Roman went on a real camping trip…not the back yard, to Headwaters Park in Ohio. The weather was perfect! Roman spent half the night outside of the lean to on guard duty and the other half inside curled up next to me on the sleeping bag. The two Shiba Inus also felt the need to sleep on my sleeping bag, as well. I didn’t get much sleep, but was super warm! The other shots are Chris chopping fire wood and me, filtering water.

Looks beautiful and I am sure Roman had a great time. I must admit I prefer day trips and coming home to a mattress over sleeping bags.
I used to camp with my GSD all the time. Nothing like having your own camping buddy! Roman looks like he had a great trip. I will have to add Headwaters Park to my list. You guys would probably love the AuSable camping area in the Huron-Manistee NF.
Looks like fun. A nice break from the norm. Your vacations are always different, from Europe, to scuba diving, Las Vegas, to camping in Ohio.
As always I love being included. Thank you!
What a fun trip! In the water filtering shot, if I squint, it looks as though you could be . . . (hmmm, how shall I word this as delicately as possible . . .) “dispatching” a snake–and I despise them–so I especially like that shot.
I love seeing pictures of Roman. He is the most beautiful male GSD I have ever seen! I remember talking about him with Julie on the day we picked up Isa, 2 years ago.
Roman is so gorgeous. What a nice album!
Love the table ornament! And I know that when John sees these pix, he’ll be ready to camp with The Grizz. Roman is his idol!
Roman is da bomb! I have to say that your Shiba’s look pretty cool too. Nothing like the prissy things I’ve seen at dog shows.
Jill, I too thought snake when I saw the filtration system.
It does look like I’m killing a snake!! ha ha!! The little shiba in the back will be 14 in Sept. and she’s the boss of the show. Pascal, the red male will be 12. Shibas are loud, bossy, non-trainable etc..I love them because they’re our dogs, but I ALWAYS encourage people to read about them before getting one. Basically, the exact opposite of a GSD.
Your little Shibas do not look like senior citizens. I had a GSD friend in CA who also had 2 Shibas. Yikes, you are right—they most certainly are the opposite of a GSD!
What a fun trip for all of you. Beautiful scenery.
