I needed a bigger collar for Dutch, and found this beautiful summery design: a winding chain of black-eyed susans on a pale green background with a rich chocolate border (Dutch doesn’t know he’s a boy yet, and I love flowers) for $10.99. I decided to also buy the matching lead ($13.99). I hate to admit how many he has chewed through while lying at my side tethered to me. The manager pointed out to me that these LUPINE leads and collars are LIFETIME GUARANTEED, EVEN IF CHEWED! I called them at 1-800-228-WOLF to get details on replacements (thinking the shipping cost might be a gimmick), and learned that you can take it right back to the place you bought it, or if they don’t have the size or color you want, you can mail it to Lupine, and they’ll pay the shipping cost to return the replacement to you!
Their website is www.lupinepet.com – They come in many sizes, and may be the last leash you’ll have to buy!
Dutch knows he’s a boy – he is just confident enough in his “boydom” to pull flowers off! 🙂
I love those Lupine collars and they really do hold up well. I misplaced Calypso’s collar a couple of weeks ago and last night found it right next to Veri; it was all wet, but still looked just fine! I wonder what she wanted with that collar? She is fascinated by Calypso (an 8 lb smooth Portuguese podengo pequeno), and I won’t let her chew on the dog, so perhaps Veri figured chewing on the collar was the next best thing.
I don’t really like the Lupine leashes- too darn stiff. but they are pretty, and that is important. 🙂
Green and Yellow are neutral colors and that leash is beautiful!
Koda’s collars and leashes (he has several) are leather, I just love the look and feel of leather.
Yes, the leash is a bit stiff, but at least if he chews it in half it can be replaced for free. I have 2 nice soft leather leashes in different lengths, but I’m saving them for when he’s not chewing so much. One is a “schutzhund,” but we can’t take him to training sessions until he has developed immunity to parvo and distemper from his vaccinations. I wouldn’t dare take him there wearing a flowered collar and leash!
I dare you Beverly! It would be hilarious to secretly video the reactions.
I might as well paint his toenails and add a cute little matching bow. The Shutzhund club would charge us with animal cruelty!
Pet Supermarket in our area used to sell them and I have used the warranty several times already… returns with no questions asked.
They just stopped selling them around here recently.
Like you Bev, I am waiting to switch to leather until after the chewing stopps.
Pam and Jerry had the right idea for a tether line, making it from the rope they use for water-skiers. I should make them up and send them home with the puppies.
I love the lupines as well! They are very long lasting and I have a friend who has made good on their returns several times!
