Imagine my surprise to find Batty greeting me when I came home from work today! He somehow managed to slip out of the Batcave (I probably didn’t latch it all the way), and decided to spend the afternoon lounging on the family room rug, while eating the TiVo remote. Batman always had it in for that remote. I knew its days were numbered.
My philosophy with Batman is, “Nothing is his fault,” and this doesn’t change that. I was so surprised, I couldn’t be mad about it. Plus, he was just too cute and nonchalant when I walked in, like, “Oh, it’s you. What took you so long? This remote is delicious!”
Also, I was happy that nothing else was destroyed, he wasn’t up on the furniture (he is not allowed), and he hadn’t urinated indoors — he was calmly chilling out, enjoying his latest chew toy. The TiVo remote actually got off pretty easy when compared to the shopping bag Batman set his sights on last weekend while I was in the shower.
LOL! His face cracks me up.
In other news, Batman graduates from puppy class tonight. Tomorrow, we start CGC class. No vacation for Batty!
I will post his pre-agility training and tracking videos later, just wanted to share the funny stuff first.
LOL!!! I’m not surprised Jennie, Gavin ate my remote too, I had to explain that to Dish when a few months later, he ate another one! 🙂
I guess this means you were a bad girl today, Jennie. LOL
Mister Tanner ate my iPhone but it survived with puncture wounds! I went on the hunt and found it in Kratemandu – our Batcave. Look out for other personal items like eyeglasses, hairbrushes, etc. They get “stolen” and with head held high, tail out, dogman runs through the house and I hear the familiar “crunch, crunch” of plastic. 🙂
Betsy
Ohhhhh…….B-Baby……was it just sooooo Bat-a-licious??? ;+}
Jennie, way too funny… was he trying to tell you to ease off on watching TV?
I love his innocent looking face… what me? nah… you must be joking…
Kiss your pup! Then thank him for being such a good Batling and only chewing the remote. On your next outing to Home Depot purchase a big snap to lock the door. I use a snap on all my wire crates as an extra safety precaution.
This is definitely your fault. You probably weren’t home in time and he wanted to watch Ellen! 😉
I think that’s exactly it! We do like Ellen.
I’m interviewing a dog walker next week. I don’t know if I can afford it long-term, but will try to get someone for a day or two each week on the days I can’t come home during lunch.
He was probably just trying to delete all of those “Sex And The City” episodes to make room so he could record some stuff from ESPN…
LOL ESPN or Animal Planet!
The pups from this litter all remind me so much of Allie…I know I have said it a dozen times, but I can’t help it.
Are you sure that it not the “Funny” gene?
I think you’re right, at least I hope so! I want all the Funny I can get.
Jennie, I love your philosophy! I have the same philosophy! This dog is so lucky to have such a devoted and loving person!
And my thoughts on eating the remote : Holy guacamole, Batman!!
Oh Batman, you sure keep your mommy on her toes!
Spoken as one who has had more than my share of remotes “damaged” … we have DirecTV and you can pick up the remotes for $20 at Walmart :~)
To TiVo’s credit, the remote still works, even though Batman ate a fair share of button covers. It’s just a little… sharper to hold.
Maybe he needs some plastic in his diet? Libby would lounge around and play w/her toys until I took my shower (all of 5 minutes). The magazine’s and books were a favorite of hers!
Yes, funny how my showers have gotten dramatically shorter since getting this puppy…
