On our walk today, we met a 6-year-old boy with special needs named Bakhruz. It was obvious when I saw Bakhruz and his mom walking towards us that this little boy loves dogs!
I showed him how to play with Batman using his ball on a stick. Batman is not usually around children, and he had not met a child with special needs before, so I made sure to keep his leash on and monitored him closely. He did wonderfully and was very gentle with Bakhruz. I was so proud of him.
So sweet…What a good boy Batman!
What a heartwarming story and photo’s, good for you (and Batman) for taking the time let this young man spend time with you and your wonderfully intuitive puppy.
They just know! How beautiful!
Ah Jennie that was so sweet, your doing such a wonderful job with Batman and he is sure looking handsome!!
Like father, like son! He is a very sweet boy.
Great story Jennie. I bet you made Bakhruz’s day letting him play with Batman. Dogs really do seem to know when to be gentle around children.
Kudos to you Jennie. It is difficult to manage a puppy, talk to people, supervise play and take pictures. The smile on Bakhruz’s face could light up a city!
Way to go Batman and Jennie!!! I am so proud of you two.
I am very proud of both of you. Jennie, you ROCK! You are doing an absolutely wonderful job with this very sensible Ruler of Gotham City. The smile on Bakhruz’s face says it all.
thanks, everyone! It was a fun outing. It’s true, dogs can have such a wonderful effect on people who have difficulty interacting with other people. They will really come out of their shell and engage with a dog.
That’s just awesome. I’ve never seen the faces of kids in hospitals, special needs, etc. light up so much as when they get a visit from a therapy dog. Even the local sports super stars take a back stage to them!
What a great series of pictures. Truly heart-warming!
Good boy Batty!!! As good as it was for Batman, the joy on that little boys face was priceless. I think everyone benefited from this experience. Way to go Jenni, keep up the great work with him.
That is so great! Bet the little boy loved that the dog was named Batman too!
