For those of you still wondering….Yes, Roman still has OCD with his hoses. His green ones were getting old and ratty, so one of Chris’s co-workers brought Roman some new ones. He was in his glory! One plus about the hose addiction is that I use one as a reward for obedience training. Much better than food rewards. I let him see it, hide it in my sleeve and he rocks his obedience!
Roman is such a handsome boy. I just love seeing pictures of him with his hose….I mean hoses! My dog Winston goes crazy for a hose too. I love the idea of placing it in your sleeve. I’ll have to try that.
OH I love you Roman, you are such a cutie-patootie. Rita, does he have 4 pieces of hose in his mouth? He is the Hosemaster!
Funny. I just bought 6′ of hose today, to be cut into (4) 18″ pieces. I will leave one at 3′ long for a while while he beats himself up a couple of times. I cut it the first time I get a whack. Must be like pools – an Alta Tollhaus thing. Hose is more stashable than a ball – unless you have a ball ejecting vest!
Website is great. I always liked that one photo from years ago of the dog looking back, Garth’s dog I think. Seemed to exemplify “Long Dangerous Tails.”
Betsy, what a memory! That was years ago. Yes it was one of Garth’s dogs, I think Garth called that picture “does my butt look big?”
Yup – that was the slogan – does my butt look big? I get that look all the time. Pools, hoses and “the look.” A-T dogs for sure.
Betsy, I agree with you! The Long-Dangerous Tails photo was the best. I think Julie needs to incorporate it back into her design.
Winston LOVES to work for his hose. I say use whatever works! Good job, Rita. Roman is da bomb!
What a sweetie Roman is. He knows with hoses you can get more of the good things in your mouth than you can balls, he’s no dummy!
Roman looks so happy with his present of new hoses!
Oh my gosh, how funny is that. I actually have to buy a repair kit for my hose too, Koda decapitated it.
Rita, I still have that GSD magazine with Roman on the cover!
The funny thing is, Roman will take a long garden hose and bite it into equal size sections. It’s not unusual for him to have 8 sections in his mouth at once. He drops one, puts his paw on it, holds the others in his mouth, then I have to pull the one out from under his paw and throw it. The process is repeated at leat 100 times.
I wonder how he measures them when he divides the hose into sections? Very interesting.
I have no idea, but he does it every time. It’s really amazing.
Oh Roman, I love the goofiness of Geman Shepherds the most!
