OK. We lied—we really didn’t get as far as the North Pole. However, we did have a great trip to DeLand Animal Hospital for a social.
There were at least 30 dogs and twice as many people there to visit with Santa. Batman was truly the hit of the party. EVERYONE knew his name and had to pet him and comment on the Handsome Wonder Pup. He happily took in all of the attention from both 2 and 4-legged varieties. Some guy came up to me and said never turn my back on this dog. “If you do, he will be GONE—someone would take him in an instant!” “Now THAT’S a German Shepherd!”
Other than trying to snag a few feathers from the little girl’s angel dress, he was the perfect gentleman. He said hello to everyone and then found a friend to play with:
People could not believe that this was his first trip out on the town!
LOL, thanks for the warning. I will not turn my back on this dog! I think about this when I imagine my daily walks with Batman, and when I see other dogs waiting outside for their humans. People are going to have to come outside to talk to me. I am not leaving him tethered out there.
Carole, can you explain what “You’ll shoot your eye out!” is all about?
Yes, what does that mean “you’ll shoot your eye out!” I don’t get it…is this some kind of redneck Christmas get together. Is Danny S. involved?
well…..it is Florida! 🙂
BWAHAHAHA!! Thanks for the laugh, I spit my coffee a little!
We’ll do anything to provide you with morning entertainment. 😉
The dog in the wagon is handicapped and this is what they use to haul her in the parades. You know that expression, “don’t do that—you’ll shoot/poke your eye out”? They probably just stuck it on there for fun. This is a good group of vets. 🙂
I think once Batman is older and waiting outside for his human, people might think twice about snagging him.
I was VERY impressed with his behavior today. Just plain PERFECT! The only time that he tried to hop on my lap was to tell me that we had been there too long and he had to pee. He thought nothing of being at the end of the lead and in the middle of all the action.
Sounds like a great time and awesome exposure! Good Boy!
What a fun day out for the Batman.
