I’m on call a lot in the summer so Nuke and I don’t get the opportunity to leave the city limits. No worries, there are plenty of local hikes!
Crooked trail winds around the back side of Mount Sentinel.
(Lots more behind the cut!)
The wildflowers were going nuts. Tons of arrowleaf balsamroot and lupine.
Of course, Nuke soon tired of frolicking amongst the flowers and decided to cool off in a mud puddle.
On the way back, he found the Best Stick Evar, as usual:
It was pretty hot up there so on the way home we stopped for a cold treat:
Nuke finished his and was all “can I have yours? you are clearly not eating it fast enough.”
Once we got back home, it was time to cool down in the kiddie pool.
I just love Nuke! Odin is not allowed on the mud, whatsover!! He won’t be allowed back in my truck, how long did it take you wash him? Although, I must admit, the mud pics are hilarious!
I just put him in the backyard and hosed him off, then let him dry out there. I still ended up needing to mop the kitchen. :p But I find once he’s dry, a good shake and a brushing makes most of the dirt just fall off. And I have a subaru outback with a plastic liner in the back (my husband calls it my dog minivan). 🙂
Stacy just described what a correct working coat should be like. I love how you let your dog be a dog!
I LOVE the MUD shots!! I swear, Stacy—you live in the most beautiful place on earth. Keep it up and we will all be moving there.
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous……beautiful pictures as always. I love the muddy shots too!
Ditto on everyone else’s comments. Thank you for another Montana vacation!
Ohhhhhh missing Colorado now! Love these shots…hahaha, at least the bath came after the mud…we need to work on that order sequence at our house:)
He looks like a lone wolf w/the mud all over him. He is certainly having a good time.
