Quack-quack-quack with a side of howl!

Honest. It’s me—The Duck!

Good grief.

Maybe that is what’s wrong with me! 😉

My neighbors are about as close to me as Julie’s neighbors. So I called a neighbor to see if she knew of anyone around here missing an old, decrepit Beagle. Nope. But she in turned called one of her neighbors who has a Beagle. Nope—not his. However, this guy said that I shouldn’t be too fooled at the old & decrepit routine. He said the people have been calling him because this dog has been running down deer at night! She’s chasing deer until they drop! Yeah, and I just won the Boston Marathon.

Tonight when my deer are grazing in the field, I am going to pry this dog her off her bed, prop her up on her legs and let her show me how she can run down deer. She can barely walk!

When I found her this morning, she was standing in front of the breezeway very stiff and disoriented. I have her photo plastered on posts in the surrounding area. I don’t care what that guy says. She could not have walked very far. More than likely, she was dumped.

OR maybe she can hardly walk because she was chasing deer all night and now is stiff and sore??

She looks like an absolute sweetheart. Karma will thank you for taking her in.

The thought of her being stiff and sore from running all night did cross my mind. She is perkier this morning but still in no shape to run down anything. She slept all night inside her dog house on her flannel blanket.

Oh, Carole. I am a real softie for the old dogs, so this just makes my heart hurt. Thank you for taking her in and keeping her safe while you figure out what’s going on. A lot of people would have just let her wander.

Carole,
You are so kind to help all these lost animals. I hope you are able to find her owner….but like you said, she may have been abandoned. (They probably got a new puppy and got rid of the old dog…..some people are awful with the things they do to animals).

I am very careful and selective about which stray dog spends time here. Most go immediately to the animal shelter. An old dog wouldn’t stand a chance at a shelter. I’m a softie for senior citizens and this girl is definitely in that category.

People are driving by her little mug shot on their way to work. Let’s see if I get a phone call today…

Hi Carole,
Any luck finding the old girl’s owner? I hope she is doing well.

Hi Lynda,

I still have Ms. Beagle. She is doing fine—but likes to howl. There is a man in the area who does Beagle Rescue. If her owners don’t arrive by this weekend, the rescue guy will take her.
