Stacy this is the recipe I promised you.
Prosciutto-Roasted Figs
from Tyler Florence
40 small fesh mission figs
4 ounces manchego or blue cheese
20 proscuitto slices, halved
1/3 cup of honey
freshly ground black pepper
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F
Make a small slit in the side of each fig and stuff a raisin-size piece of cheese in the opening. Wrap a piece of prosciutto around each fig to enclose it. Stand the figs on a baking sheet. bake until the prosciutto melts slightly and forms a skin around the figs, 12 – 15 minutes. Transfer to a serving platter. Drizzle with honey and season with lots of pepper. Serve hot or at room temperature.
Skip the recipe—just send the figs. For me, you can leave out that Blue Cheese!
Drool…New Years dinner party at our house: caviar dip, lobster risotto in saffron broth, braised short ribs on polenta, cheese souffles and a desert medley. Each is paired with wine, of course 🙂
Rita, Rita, Rita you have out done yourself! Does this sound good. Did you do it all yourself? Oh wait Chris helped, he selected the wine right?
All I can say about my standing rib roast …boring.
Julie, you can send your boring rib roast to me!
It all sounds very festive!
@rita We had some friend over and everyone was in charge of a course. I forgot to mention fingerling lamb chops. The desserts were creme brulee and cheese cake w/ berry lemon sauce. Yummy!! We had an amazing Caymus cab with the shorts ribs.
that’s the way to do it!
Sounds delicious!!!!
Rita, I’ve read through this post several times—searched line by line. You forgot to include your street address!! 😉
