After finding Nuke playing with *half* of a glass icicle from the Christmas tree (and panicking until we found the rest), I discovered my husband has been hiding a pile of ripped up ornaments from me. Now the tree is behind a fence. 🙁
Meanwhile, the Nuke song has expanded to a second verse.
This is the story of a dog
He’s on the web and he has his own blog
And though he has no thumbs to work the keys
I do the typing for him!
As a press releeeease
And here’s some pictures of our adventures in the Rattlesnake Wilderness/Recreation Area north of town this weekend. Some of these photos are scenery with no dog in them as a change of pace. 🙂
Let me state for the record that wrestling a 4.5 month-old puppy, a camera, a backpack, and a trekking pole is no picnic. Especially when your puppy keeps wanting to chase and bite the trekking pole. I thought I had broken him of it until I was walking ahead of him on the trail and he came barreling up behind me, CHARGED the pole, and bit into it at the same time…. shearing it in half. *facepalm*
As I was putting it away in a side pocket of my pack he was STILL trying to bite it. Does this look like the face of a shark who is sorry to you?
By then it was time to head back home anyway.
It was a great place to hike with Nuke. Unfortunately it’s closed to dogs from December 1 to February 28th for elk breeding season, so we’ll have to find some other places to play.
I love the second verse of the Nuke song. Beautiful scenery. I especially like this last picture. Super! The tewfs picture does look rather shark like, but what really shows is a combination of milk teeth and adult teeth…will get worse for awhile…and then they will all be in.
Stacy, I just love your photos!
There is a saying here: Sharks never mean to bite—it is just an accident of mistaken identity. As a true shark, he was just giving the trekking pole a little taste. 😉
I LOVE these photos! Nuke is quite the charmer. I remember those puppy teeth well…hang in there and keep the trekking poles safely out of range! 😉
Gorgeous pictures of a very handsome dog in amazing territory!
Singer is 11 months old now and he’s still certain that the wood pile is on the wrong side of the house. Our patio is littered with all the logs, branches from trees, large rocks and anything else not firmly afixed to something. Love the snow but glad to be here in sunny southern California. If you need a warm weather fix come on by with Nuke and we’ll take him out herding.
Rich, You better be careful…come January/February you might find a whole lot of us standing at your door!
Welcome one and all. Plenty of sheep around for everyone.
Do you do the HGH style herding? Robin wants to do that kind of herding with Via.
sorry that question is for Rich.
Most often out here you find AKC “C” course and AHBA Ranch Large Flock. HGH seems to be more in the east for some unknown reason. Both of the above mentioned courses simulate the HGH to some degree but on a smaller scale (not as many sheep for example).
Via wants to visit Nuke to hunt elk, collect trekking poles and play in the snow.
She wants to visit Singer to floss her teeth on sheep buts, collect firewood and lay in the sun.
She is packing her bags.
and what does Robin want????
Robin wants to spend a week in Marshall!
I’ll keep looking around here for large flock and C course.
Fantastic pictures, both of Nuke and the wonderful scenery.
