Nuke graduated from puppy class today!!!! He was voted Most Stubborn Dog In Class. Okay not really, but if they had votes, that would be him. All the dogs got puppy cake! Which consisted of disgusting smelling canned dog food with milkbone crumbles in a pie tin. He LOVED it and then tried to eat his plate.
You can’t read his certificate because I can’t manage a dog in my lap and a certificate and a treat to get him to look at the webcam and the shift button to turn off the “flash” all at once. :p
Next week we start a “CD prep” class, which is preparing for a novice AKC obedience title (I don’t know the first thing about any competitions so this is all new terminology to me). I just want to keep going to keep learning about his behavior and why he does what he does and how to fix problems. It’s been more educational for me than for him by far. 🙂
Wooo wooo. Congratulations Mr. Nuke. Wasn’t that an edible pie tin?
Congratulations Stacy & Nuke!
Congratulations Stacy to you and Nuke- enjoy learning about competition sports with your boy. And, if your serious about maybe doing competition and earning a CD on Nuke, talk to some of the folks in your CD class about the new “BN” (beginner novice) title – it’s a new AKC titling class that is not as hard as the CD and gives you ring experience before you go for the CD – good luck and enjoy – GSDs are soooooo much fun to train, and I really love that you can try all sorts of things with them since they are so versatile. Have fun!
Thank you Laura. I had not heard of the BN class, sounds like a perfect starting point.
I had not heard about the BN class either. Thanks for sharing that news.
Congratulations Stacy & Nuke! Keep the pictures and all your stories coming! I just love Nuke..he is such a cutie pie.
Yay, Nuke! Stacy, you can also look into Rally. It’s a good intro to the competitive obedience sports.
