Earlier this year the Dieterich family lost their beloved house dog, World Sieger Zamp vom Thermodos. They loved that dog and were devastated by his loss.

December 2008 I traveled to Dieterich’s to breed Maika to Digger vom Elzmündungsraum, a Zamp son. During my visit they showed me all of their dogs including this young male puppy named Quattro von der Partnachklamm.  This was clearly a superstar in the making and within seconds of laying eyes on him, I was asking if he was for sale…they politely laughed at that question. Nine months later this young puppy wins his youth class at the World sieger show. 2010 arrives and Zamp dies unexpectedly from cancer. Then comes the 2010 World Sieger show, the loss of Zamp is still heavy on their hearts.  Quattro is showing well but they do not know if he will be a high V or VA.  I photographed Reinhard and his daughters Julia and Lisa as they find out the news that Quattro was awarded the highly coveted VA award at the World Sieger show in Nuernberg Germany.

The legend continues.

Carole, Al and Karen are right. As I said last night, those photographs moved me to tears and I don’t even know the people nor the dogs. Your photographs really captured the very essence of moment.
