First glimpse of the first pup. You can see a rear foot.
Mos teaching Monica how to tie-off the umbilical cord
Hi! Nice to meet you!
Off to the right is “exlir of life” also known as “ice cream. ” I believe ice cream makes everything better in life. 🙂 So after each pup, a little Breyers natural vanilla ice cream to give momma some calcium, calories, a cool treat, and to cleanse the palate (she just ate the placenta).
A moment to relax.
But not for long, as number 2 arrives.
Isn’t life amazing!
Monica is learning from the very best!
And thanks to you—I’m craving ice cream!
I need to add that the photo of the “first glimpse of the first pup” is excellent! Not too many folk actually get to witness it in such detail. One is usually too busy with the whelping process to notice the tiny details that are in this picture. Great job, Julie! I’m glad you posted these pictures!
I also need to mention, for those of you that have never whelped a litter, that if you think birthin’ babies is so pristine, then you are all delusional! 🙂
GREAT PICS, JULIE! CONGRATULATIONS! AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, ALSO!
Thank you Carla!
The birth of puppies (especially a large breed) is anything but pristine…but I am happy to share the cleaned up scenes.
Love the shots, congrats to Monica, and I love your Ice Cream Philosophy! JH 🙂
