A week of sleepless nights as Kira would wake me with her panting, frequent bathroom trips or just feeling the need to wake me up. As she was in the early stages of having her puppies, I was watching her, pleased with how nice and slim she was. No extra weight except for the puppies. That of course means the pups would also be normal size and the delivery would be quick and easy. I could envision a full nights sleep in my future. Besides, Kira always has quick and easy deliveries, Yeah not this time. Even though Kira stayed thin, her puppies did not, they were HUGE and the delivery was a marathon session. With every contraction I was helping by gritting me teeth and wondering what possesses me to want to breed dogs. As a testament to Kira’s stamina she was able to deliver all of her whelps (pups) naturally… and I have the nerve to complain about missing some sleep.
These are pictures of the newly born 2 pound whoppers. There are 2 boys and 3 girls, I took the pictures before the last girls was born so only 4 pups in the pictures. I was just too exhausted to even pick my camera up by the time the last pup joined us. I will make up for it. Maika is in the other room and she is absolutely sure she can do a better job raising Kira’s pups. Maika is very much her mother’s daughter. Sorry Maika but Kira is an amazing Mom.
OMG—Kira! 2 Pounders?!!?? Kayla’s puppies are one week old today and are a little over 2 pounds. Julie, I look at these pups here and cannot imagine what Kira & you went through. Hugs to Kira…
Some examples of too too solid flesh? As usual, Uncle Rafe wants to kiss the babies.
OMG! Kira is Supermom! Great job to you both….good times…..
I love them all!
