Right now the favorite snack is fresh sweet potatoes, the dogs go crazy for them. Maika is definitely pregnant and at this time, being very picky about her food. She is starving, but only for the food she wants to eat, which of course is not her regular dog food. Iams biscuits (aka crack biscuits) and sweet potatoes are paws up.
I am easing off on Kira’s schutzhund training as she widening in her mid-section with her Joker vom Eichenplatz pups. I hear from Carole that Kayla is not “showing” yet but acting prego.
Indulge me while I catch up on bragging about xray results. I am not sure where to begin…but here goes. Alta-Tollhaus Kayla (Hoss vom Herimer Teich x Quellie vom Kirschental) received her A Stamp Normal on hips and elbows before going to Germany for training. After turning two years old she was xrayed again for OFA and received OFA Good on hips and OFA normal on elbows. She was xrayed while in estrus so who knows, had we waited until she a few months out she could have gotten an excellent, but instead of waiting she was bred to X-Box dei Precision.
Alta-Tollhaus Caisson and Cadence both had xrays submitted after one year of age for the A-Stamp, Caissons have come back as A-Stamp Normal hips and elbows and has a Zuchwert hip rating of 76! Cadence’s results have not yet come back. We expect she should also be A- normal on both hips and elbows. Caisson and Cadence are the only two pups from the the December 2008 litter of Jimmy von Arminius 2000 x Faye vom Kirschental.
Alta-Tollhaus Havana (Ana) and Heike had their first xrays taken at 5 months. Closed elbows and beautiful hips! Ana and Heike are from one of the last Zamp vom Thermodos litters and out of Maikali vom Kirschental. Preliminary xrays on Alta-Tollhaus Garbo (X-Box dei Precision x Faye vom Kirschental) look perfect. Alta-Tollhaus Billie and Bailey, Markus vom Status Quo x Quellie vom Kirschental, both with good hips and good elbows. Radiographs are being sent to Germany for their A-Stamp ratings. Also from the B-litter, Bronson’s radiographs taken out in Oregon look very nice.
Rudi’s hips and elbows are good, Julie Hesse swings by for a visit and her dog gets xrayed, sure why not. Rudi is a litter brother to Schumi (who already has his A-stamp normal hips and elbows) from the first breeding of Jimmy vom Arminius 2000 x Faye vom Kirschental.
Alta-Tollhaus Epic (call name: Brady) recently turned one year and his owner, Michelle Bloom, had his pictures taken for the German A-Stamp program, we are awaiting his ratings, but both ends looked very nice! His sister Evey was radiographed before she was a year and also had normal elbows and good hips. Epic and Evey are from the Digger vom Elzmündungsraum x Maikali vom Kirschental litter.
Ok, that is all I remember right now. Gotta run, Maika is having a stare-down with a sweet potato on the kitchen counter. Going to cut it up before she helps herself and develops a counter-surfing habit.
Condratuladions on all the xrays. As far as the counter surfing, well maybe we should look at making it a sport ! AHHAHAHHA
Why are sweet potatoes good for dogs?
Congratulations on the xrays!! 🙂
Great results all around. Maika…I can’t blame you for loving sweet potatoes. I LOVE sweet potato fries….yummy and good for you too. :p
