A manatee came up to get a closer view of the Cormorants and they had a fit. I’m not certain what the smaller bits are—not ice though. My iso was set high and these pix are too grainy for my liking.
What species of Cormorant are those? We have the Double Crested here in the Great Lakes, and the increase in their population is a huge issue. Both the sport and commercial fishing industries saying there are so many that they are destroying the fish population and should be thinned. I know the DNR and some the Tribes have worked on oiling eggs to reduce the population.
They are really cool birds! They look rather comical, is that ice floating on the water?
