It was very cold at Blue Springs (yes, Julie—it was cold!). All of my feathered friends were trying to catch some rays—including this one:
There were two ladies and a man near me and one of the ladies asked the man about this bird. “Oh this is an owl. Florida is loaded with owls like this!” He explained the habits of owls at great length and then ended his commentary in the tone of a five-year-old boy: “AND OWLS don’t like having THEIR picture taken!” Without even stopping shooting I said, “Then I guess it is a good thing that I’m taking pictures of a hawk.”
Carole, love the photos and the story is priceless! JH 🙂
Yes, priceless owl story! Doh, duffers.

I got a big laugh over this! What agreat story.
WOW is all I can say about all the pix on this page. You really catch the feel of the animal(s) and the milieu in your photos for those of us not lucky enough to be there!
Thank you! I really prefer to shoot in an area with less people but the Owl Master gave me my entertainment for the day.
@Carole
I kept looking for the owl, I figured it was hiding behind the hawk. 🙂
Ditto what Barb said…WOW!
