Went to Ponce Inlet to watch the launch today. I should have made the trip to Cape Canaveral for a closer view. Maybe next time—there aren’t that many more opportunities to photograph the space shuttle.

Somehow I manage to have a closer view from home. However, being at the ocean gave me the opportunity to feel the ground rumble as you hear the sonic boom.

It is over and done with before you know it. Then all that is left is the puff of smoke and the birds…
