Hello everyone, my name is Lorie and I am the new proud owner of Gavin. I am extremely excited to embark on a new adventure in my life, the world of Dog Shows!!! I have bred, raised, and shown horses for the past several years, through it all my dogs have been a constant, from my JRT sitting on my lap in the stands, to my German Shepherds sleeping in the tack rooms or the bed of my truck with me waiting for foals to be born. I still have and love horses, but have decided to focus on dogs now, particularly German Shepherds of which there have been a steady stream throughout my life, from my first love Baron back 30 years ago, to my current dogs Maddie, Jericho and my new hearthrob Gavin. I am completely green to the sport, but was also green to horses when I started, I didn’t even know how to put a saddle on and being too embarassed just rode bareback! I came along ways from than, and will do the same in this arena, I have enlisted the help of top people and with Julie mentoring me as I need, it will be a fun endeavor! I plan to share the highs and the lows ( and I know there has to be some) with this blog so you can all watch as me and Gavin take our first big steps into the spotlight. Feel free to add your advice, it is much needed!!!
Gavin will be making his show ring debut in September in beautiful Malibu, California at the Golden State Breed Survey and Conf. Show, it is a prep for our ultimate goal the N.A.S.S. Sieger Show in November. Wish us luck!!! It should be a very fun and INTERESTING day, maybe capped off with a dip in the beautiful ocean!
