Chief has a baby sister, Gia, From the Gorbi – Kira litter. She loves the kiddie pool, Chief thinks it is a big water bowl. Gia pictured below giving hugs and kisses to her big brother chief ( Hoss – Zucca) and intent focus on a bug. She is doing GREAT!
Gia LOVES her pool! Chief looks like he is going to be a great big brother.
@Cheryl, Chief IS trying hard. At only two years old he is still a big puppy himself and a little unsure what to make of the new baby and all the fuss.
Somedays our house is a total madhouse. Kimberly
Gia is a doll! Since I met these monsters, er…pups personally, which color collar was Gia? Ha, ha, the joke is on you—you’ve got one of Kira’s pups! Maybe with Gorbi being the dad, you will have the “sweeter” Kira kid. (Don’t tell Kayla I said that!)
Kimberly – Gia is a doll! She is beautiful – and Chief will be a great big brother! Ben would be jealous if he knew – he only has a corgi brother! (who he adores!)
Hi Karen – thanks for the nice comments- she really is a little dolly! How is Ben? We always love to see pics of him – does he still have lake envy?
take care, Kimberly
I totally forgot Kayla is Kira’s daughter! So now I have a Hoss son and a Kira daughter and you have a Hoss/Kira daughter – I’m getting confused.ha ha
Gia was the multi color pink collar/then teal collar (more confusion). Maybe the multi color pink collar got destroyed by the other monsters (er pups). Julie told me she was a sweet baby – what are you saying “the joke’s on me”? Compared to Chief at this age she is an angel!
The lovely one is in heat again? Will you get her spayed at some point? What age did she have her first heat? I am trying to time Gia’s spay procedure with a break in class but before the first heat…I hate to even do it to her – the thought of her being in any pain just gets to me – but, with a robust young male around (you know who) I see no choice – like the nanny said in Gone With the Wind “I don’t know nothin’ bout birthin no babies”…
You took some pix of Gorbi at a recent show – and made mention of his stance – no easty/westy or something like that. Did you mean feet turning inward or outward (which his do not)? I noticed Gia has really stout and straight little front legs – must get it from her dad. take care, Kimberly
Kimberly, you fell for that “Sweet Baby” routine from Julie??!!! She says that about all her brats! Julie said that about Kayla—need I say more? 🙂 Just kidding—but the joke is still on you!
The first time I met Kira & Kayla was last year at a dog show in KY. Kayla was only a little over 3 months old and she really was a doll, very sweet and a real character. I instantly fell in love with both of them. Kayla is a lot like her mother—tough as nails but with an excellent sense of humor. (You’ll find out soon enough.)
I like all of Julie’s females, but Kira will always hold a special place in my heart. I consider a pup from Kira and Gorbi to be an added bonus, so I’m happy that you have Gia. Gorbi is an outstanding male!
I do remember Pink Polar Bear Girl! She really was a sweetie and one of my faves. You will have a lot of fun with her.
Kayla was around 11 months old when she had her first heat cycle. We will breed Kayla, so no plans on spaying. (Unless, of course, you want to put Julie into cardiac arrest!) I know plenty ’bout birthin’ babies! However, my youngest baby is now a senior citizen. Yikes, I can’t believe it has been that long since I’ve whelped a litter. Seems like yesterday.
Thank you for posting photos of Gia and Chief—keep up the good work!
Hi Kimberly – Ben is Crazy in love with water. Buckets of water, the hose, whatever – he loves to play in water. – A couple of weekends ago I took him to a friend’s pond – and he was the first dog in and the last dog out. It’s the first time he has actually been allowed to swim off leash – with a group of dogs – he was in heaven. My friend’s labs and Portuguese Water Dogs could not outswim Ben! When we called the dogs in – he came almost out of the water – and then laid down in the water with only his head out – and there was no doubt that he did not want to come out! I thought for a minute that I might have to go in and drag him out. But because he is such a good boy – he did come out for me.
I will try to get some pictures – hopefully we are going to Julie’s on Saturday (if we don’t get stormed out – what a summer this has been) and Julie said that she would take some pics for me!
Karen- it sounds like Ben had a total blast! Chief loves the hose too, unfortunately I have never had the opportunity to let him swim anywhere. You are going to Julie’s – you aren’t puppy shopping are you? I will watch for the pics and yes, I agree – this had been the WORST year for weather UGH!
So you think I was bamboozled? Come to think of it, I called Julie on a totally unrelated matter, got to talking and 4 days later had a new “sweet baby” – maybe you are right….But I couldn’t be happier about it!
I too was impressed with Gorbi way before I ever got to have one of his pups and Kira – well, she is just too cool, isn’t she? Gia has this habit when she is excited – she jumps up in the air like a little spring (boing, boing) it is too cute. Maybe she gets this from Kira the action dog!
Finally, no, I do not want to give Miss Julie a heart attack – that is why I must spay Gia. I would never want to make that call giving Julie the news that Chief knocked up my baby. I can only imagine the ire I would unleash!! If you have Kayla pups there will be no end to the photo ops. take care.
PS – whatever happened to Major Tom?
I’ve been known to tease Julie from time to time, but she knows that I think she’s the very best. She couldn’t have chosen a better home for Gia. You & Chief will do an excellent job with pup rearing.
Major Tom sticks pretty close to his den. For a tortoise, he is mighty fast at going to ground when he sees me coming. Maybe he is camera shy? If that is the case, he is living on the wrong property.
