I just found out today that this raccoon and her youngster live two properties away in a giant oak tree. Her home is to the south of me, yet I only see her enter our property from the north. She and her youngster stick to the woods, rather than cross our open field. She must travel over half a mile to get here. I sort of feel sorry for her—but not sorry enough to want to offer food. Besides, there are plenty of berries and such to eat around here. I didn’t get a photo of the youngster—mom sent the kid too far up the tree.
About this time I knelt in some fire ants—ended this photo session in a hurry!
Too cute!! We have a raccoon (Ricky) that I’ve been feeding for the last 3 yrs. I can’t help it.
Baaaaaad Rita! So far we have named our turkey and the tortoise. I am not naming the raccoons! Because of our animals, I do not encourage raccoons to come around for food.
@Carole, I know, I know, but Ricky just stops by for his package and then he’s on his way 🙂
Your little masked friend is very cute! AND the photos I’ve been enjoying this evening…you rock! Okay, gotta find Doodle and see what he’s up to. Have a great weekend, I’ll be in touch. JH 🙂
If you think my little masked friend is so darn cute, I will see what I can do about sending her and her toddler home with Rudi!
Awwwww! These pictures make it seem like I’m right there next to those cute little things. There are tons of them around our neighborhood too.
