What’s that saying? Red sky in morning—sailor’s warning. Look out sailors, you have been warned!
The lone bird in the sunrise photo is a pelican. The formation is a group of Ibis. The baitfish are heavy in the surf, so everyone was enjoying breakfast! There were no shorebirds visiting today, so all of my bird shots are at a distance. Within a few minutes, several groups of Ibis came through.
I love the pictures of the ocean!!!
Now about that red sky—there is a severe storm coming through with 60mph winds, hail and heavy lightning!
I hope the storm missed you, Carole. I absolutely love these photos, too. Is the surf rough after a storm? You should check it out – take your camera!
Beautiful!!! I hope the storm was mild.
Most of the damage from the storm was closer to the ocean. Margot, the ocean is wild after a storm! Sometimes the surf is so rough that there is no beach at all. I will put a rain jacket on my camera and take photos for you. It is very impressive! The best time is during the storm itself. Only I do not intend to stand on the beach during all of that lightning! A monopod in hand would be as bad as a fishing pole. If you folks are going to start giving me assignments, maybe one of you should invest in a good insurance policy on me. It just might pay off! 😉
Just awesome! Hurried home yesterday to let the dogs out before the storm, looked like the sky was falling. Only spit on us, thank goodness, the sky reminded me more of a midwestern tornado sky. Anyway, beautiful photos and happy to hear you’re not going to be a lightening rod, leave that to the Weather Channel folks (silly Jim Cantori). JH
