For you, Carole – just so you know I’m still alive and well on the farm. This is the busiest time of year for me but we still manage to have some fun. Next week, Chevy and Vida are going to local elementary schools with me for my talks on bite prevention and safety. Kids and dogs – should be some great photo ops! Love all the great photos on the blog. I am peely wally even though I am outdoors most of the time because I wear SPF 85 and giant brimmed sunhats.
Thank you, thank you, thank you—pix of one of my most favorite boys! Yes, I understand the summer life of mowing, etc. I am kept busy and I don’t grow anything other than grass, weeds, and wild animals. I too stay peely wally from SPF85.
How can I possibly select a favorite from all of these great shots??? Surfer Dude, Long-Dangerous Wet, Spy a Goose, and Big Wave are at the top of my list.
Any chance you could send Big Wave uncropped in high resolution?

Kids & dogs photo op—think “vertical” shots! Or at least allow me room for cropping. There I go—thinking only of myself again. 😉
Margot, Kayla would be so, so jealous if she knew how Mr. Vida was spending his summer vacation!
Love these pictures, makes me feel like running in the waves with him!
loving these pics sooooo much !!!!!!!!!!!!! it looks so picturesque!!
Vida looks like he had a blast! Great shots, Margot. I like the “I’m standing on one foot, Mom”. Were you at Lake Michigan?
Great shots Margot – were you at Lake Michigan? I like the “standing on one foot” one…Vida looks like he had a blast!
Sorry I posted twice – didn’t think it worked the first time. I just got used to the old way, now I have to learn new stuff- thanks Julie!
Thanks, everyone, for the nice comments. These photos were taken at Sterling State Park on Lake Erie. It is not dog-friendly officially, but you really have to pick your time of year and/or go on miserable wet, windy, cold days that empty the beaches of sunbathers. The park rangers have seen us but have never driven over to say a word. Vida never lets little things like temperature or weather affect his enjoyment of any body of water. Besides being Zucca’s son, I think he is part polar bear and duck.
