Puppies, puppies, puppies and lots of people to help feed, socialize and train. Thank you all of much for your help! On a down-note, I damaged another lens so only a few of the pictures were okay, the rest are too poor to include here.
Rita is finger-feeding yogurt to the Gorbi-Kira puppies. You know you are in the presence of a true dog person when they do not care about puppy food on their clothing. Did I mention I really liked Rita and her husband Chris? Do I have to? Nope!

The following three pictures are of John holding his favorite puppies:

I like the pictures in the background in the 9th pic. I know I sound like a broken record but Julie you have such beautiful puppies!! 🙂
Julie you have wonderful puppies!!!!
Great photos – you seem to have a huge extended family. It seems everyone who walks through your door warms to both you and your wonderful dogs.
Broken another lens? What do you do to them…….?
last year at the BSZS in Aachen Germany I was shooting pictures with my 70-200 f2.8 Nikkor lens—and the videographer smashed right into my lens jamming the lens and camera into the bridge of my nose. Stunning me for a time and leaving me bloody. Turns out both my lens and my camera were damaged by that but I didn’t realize it until I got home and looked at my photos. Pictures I KNEW were crystal clear were out of focus. I immediately drove to the nearest authorized Nikon service provider and had them look at my equipment.
This weekend, I had teh camera on a table I picked it up and was in the process of putting the strap around my neck when O’Stara jumped on me and the camera was knocked out of my hands it hit the floor lens first, straight on. It seemed fine, took pictures fine, it wasn’t until I looked at them did I realized the lens was toast. It was not an expensive lens. I would refer to it as a junk-lens and would leave it on just because it was one that I didn’t mind getting knocked around. No tears shed over this lens but I do feel bad about the pictures that I were ruined. I pray the camera is OK. I have not had an opportunity to try it with a different lens. If the camera is damaged that will really be awful.
If you’ve just noticed a moment of silence, it was me saying a prayer that your camera is fine!
Thank you.
Oh my gosh how terrible! I hope the camera body is OK.
I have never broken any cameras or lens, but last year I had about $8,000 worth of camera, lens, filters etc stolen. I had seperate insurance on them but in the end not everything was covered to the value I had been paying the premium.
I had some $300 ultra thin filters to eliminate vignetting when using my wide angle lens but in the end they only paid out $75 per lens as they said that was the maximum they would pay for a filter. This, despite the fact I had sent them all original receipts and had been paying a high premium for expensive equipment. I felt rather duped by the insurance company and totally devastated by the theft of personal propery which had taken years to collect.
I was reading your previous post regarding your developing experience. I never got into the developing side but my Father did and produced some wonderful b/w photos. When I am back in England next month, I’ll see if I can snag a couple of my Mum and Rex, their GSD and post them to the site.
That really stinks!!! Especially when you can prove what you paid for them. I also buy expensive filters and they all cost well over $75. You don’t cover up expensive glass with cheap glass!I can imagine how upseting that was to have your equipment stolen. Some of the pieces you “get into a groove with” and they just can not be replaced. That is how I feel about the camera I have now.
I would love to see pictures of your Mum and Rex.
Adorable puppies and kids. The one picture of Ashlynn with the puppies, it looks like one puppy is going to put a new ruffle on her skirt hem LOl
I’m sure you caught the typo in my last comment Julie. I said the insurance company only paid out $75 per lens, I meant $75 per filter. The compensation for the lens wasn’t too far from current retail.
Have you been able to check your camera yet? I hope it’s OK.
