The mammoth gator Vida explodes in sudden fury from his watery lair and attempts to capture an unsuspecting deer at water's edge. Oh, too bad, the pesky photographer scared the deer away. GRRRR!
While returning from a successful hunt with her prey clamped securely in her powerful jaws, Chevy becomes aware that some kind of large and menacing swamp creature is now stalking her. YIKES!!!
Determined to keep her hard won meal at all costs, Chevy shifts into high gear and leaves the swamp creature in her wake. WHEW - that was a close call!

Great! Love the first action photo and sorry about the deer. No meat for you this week. Hope young children don’t have access to the demise of their beloved Kermit. 🙂

That is EXACTLY how the gators do it!
Margot, as always, your photos are superb! Great action shot of one of my favorite boys! Kayla would be so jealous if she knew what Vida, Chevy and the swamp creature were doing.
I agree with Karen & Al—we need a sequel.

Thanks, everyone, for the kind praise and compliments. When inspired and not otherwise occupied, a sequel will be forthcoming.
Johnny Angel, my aspiring chef, disappeared into the prairie yesterday and came back with a gourmet dish called pheasant under glass, er, grass. He is very creative and is able to use everything, feathers, beak, feet in his recipe. He wants his own cookbook!
