Ha! I bet you thought there would be pictures of horses! I can always count on this group of friends giving me a challenge. The yearlings will head straight for the shadows and put it in high gear!
Hand-held telephoto lens with shaky hands today, and a cat bumping me. These are still my best turkey pix. I’ve decided that this camera works best when the automatic settings are not used.
Great pics, Carole! They really show that turkeys are, in fact, quite beautiful. I did expect horses though….I was all excited. 🙂
Gorgeous! I have never noticed how beautiful Turkey’s are. Great job Carole.
Thank you. I always thought that turkeys were dull and boring until I saw their feathers shining in the sunlight.
Hi, Carole,
You live in a very cool neighborhood with lots of interesting residents. I love your turkey portraits. How can you have the time to focus manually with such elusive subjects?
My turkeys are quite comfortable with me walking amongst them. I never knew so much about turkeys until I moved here. This group of yearlings have recently been sent “on their own” so they were a little spooky. Up until now, they have had the security of having one or two adults stay with them at all times.
Margot, wait until you see some of my “other” neighbors—they should be arriving soon!
