As you may have heard, Ohio was hit by a nasty winter storm last night and this morning. This means a snow day for me, a fun day for Pieka.
Here are a couple of videos of Pieka and Louie playing in the snow. Louie is one of our other dogs. He’s a Shih Tzu mutt mix – but I swear, he thinks he’s a husky. He LOVES the snow. He also loves to chase Pieka in circles when they are in our yard. Thank goodness for Louie, I sure couldn’t move that fast out there today!
And here are a few pictures of Pieka. Obviously, we’re not quite the photographers that some on this blog are! I love how feminine and typey Pieka is. I think her pigment is gorgeous. And those super-fluff ears are just too cute.

We also started tracking lessons. We’re supposed to be working on scent circles, teaching Pieka the basics of associating her job with crushed vegetation, etc. It is kind of hard to do that when all vegetation is buried under several inches of snow! Whenever the grass peeks out again, we’ll take some pictures of tracking practice.
Pieka and Louie are having such a great time in the snow. That is the first time I’ve ever seen a Shih Tzu play in snow! Thanks for posting.

^ ditto Julie! My dogs do the same thing every day but I still smile watching Pieka. I wish I had video capability. I love to watch Nikon try to catch Chopper. He can only dream! She is so fast and agile. She is the oldest and has more zoomies than all of them!
