Your courtyard is looking good. I am looking forward to seeing the whole thing!

Thanks, Julie. Also thanks for photoshopping the photo so my house is white not dingy gray – I should have adjusted the white balance – oops. First, 50 wheelbarrows of dirt were removed to make the ground slope away from the house, then I leveled it and landscape fabric was laid and pinned. I covered the landscape cloth with 1 ton of shredded tire mulch. Besides the shepherd family I moved from across the driveway, I also have a large three tiered fountain that I am repainting that’s also in the courtyard. Prior to starting this little project, I dug 30 or 40 hostas out which I now must divide and then replant in this space. This is the only garden space which I have totally fenced off from the dogs but experience has shown me that just one chipmunk visitor to the hostas will set the dogs off until the entire garden is flattened. I guess they’ll have to be satisfied with the other 99.9 acres! I didn’t get any more work done on it this weekend because I had to mow 20+ acres of lawn for the first cut of the season. Now I can set up my agility obstacles for my furry fliers.Wow! Just writing about this project is making me tired and sore:) Love, Margot

I agree, that makes me tired just reading it too. It will be splendid and this summer you can enjoy all your back-breaking efforts.
Love,
Julie
