Ziva was entered in the Hamburg Agility Trial in Erie, PA the weekend of May 26th. This is our last trial for some time, as my cancer treatments are getting the best of me. Ziva has been a champ greatly modifying her running style & paying extra close attention to suit my inability to run and handle the way I should. She has also declared that until I am back on my feet she will not run for anyone but me. I can hardly wait until we are together as a team again. She always comes through for me. BEST DOG EVER!
Ziva first class on Saturday was Master JWW. She had a nice jumpers run and Q’d with 4th place. I was able to get a video of her run below.
Her next class was Master Standard. We did not place, but she did Q in spite of my not being able to properly handle her & came through for a double Q for the day!
Sunday her 1st class was Master JWW and she ran well. We did not place, but she did Q for 15 PACH points. This leg also earned her her Master Jumpers Bronze title!
As much as I wanted to try for another double Q, I just was not able to physically run the standard class, so we packed up, stopped for some ice cream for her and went home.
At the end of January Julie K. told me that she was going to enter Mika in the GSDCA Universal Sieger Show in Wilmington, Ohio. The Alta-Tollhaus “O” litter had just been born and I jokingly said that if Jack and I got one of the males in the litter we would enter him in the show just for fun!! Julie R., Julie K. and I started posting about the show and more and more people decided to enter their pups/dogs. There were 10 Alta-Tollhaus dogs/progeny entered. Alta-Tollhaus team members (some showing their dogs/pups and some coming to support and help) came from as far away as the Pacific Coast, the Atlantic Coast and even the Caribbean!
Jack, Aiden, Connor and I left Cape Cod on Thursday afternoon.
One of our many “pee” breaks!
We stopped in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania for the night.
On Friday we drove to Wilmington, Ohio and checked in to the hotel. It was great to see the sign welcoming the GSDCA and the dogs to the hotel.
We met Julie K., her mother and Mika “in person”. Aiden and Mika hit it off right away and became good friends.
My sister Donna and her husband, John, arrived later that evening and it was super to see them.
On Saturday we watched the National IPO3 Championship and met Jody and Fred.
Later that afternoon (and on Sunday) more AT family and friends arrived, Andrea and Matt, Jackie and Tom, Christi, Joanne and Paula, Susan, Cheryl, and Jennifer and many others. It’s always great to see and meet members of the AT family.
The owners of O’Wilson and O’Zeke, two of O’Connor’s brothers, could not make it to the show so Julie agreed to bring the pups with her to show. It was fun to see them again.
We watched as Julie took Alta-Tollhaus Juno in for the breed survey. Juno was great and was awarded her KKL LBZ (Lifetime Breed Survey).
When the breed survey was over we did some ring practice with all the AT dogs/pups and then checked in for the show. Later Julie and Carl hosted a BBQ at their RV.
Sunday was the Universal Sieger Show and the AT Team did very well. With so many “family” members there we all got to cheer each other on in the show ring.
First up was the Baby Puppy Class (3-6 months) – Males. The three “O” (Aiden x Yoyo) brothers were only 15 weeks old in a class with pups close to 6 months old. All the “O” pups earned their VP (Very Promising) rating.
Aiden was entered in the Veterans Dog Class – Male class. He just turned 6 years old in April and the GSDCA considers any dog over 6 yrs a Veteran. Aiden placed 1st Veterans male.
Team Alta-Tollhaus results from the 2018 GSDCA Universal Sieger Show
SG2 – Alta-Tollhaus Henri – Young Dog Class (18-24 months) – Females
1st place – Alta-Tollhaus Aiden – Veteran Dog Class – Males
V5 – Alta-Tollhaus Juno – Working Dog Class – Females
V1 – Pepe vom Leithawald – Working Dog Class – Males
We took the opportunity to get a picture of Alta-Tollahus Aiden and three of his “O” litter sons.
Jack and I, and the boys, started our drive home on Monday morning. We stopped at the Kooser State Park in Somerset, PA to take Aiden and Connor for a walk to stretch their legs, and ours too, after a long car ride.
We spent the night near Allenstown, PA and drove the rest of the way home on Tuesday.
Dylan was so happy to see us.
Most of these pictures were taken on my cell phone. Andrea, Julie K. and my brother-in-law took pictures with their “proper” cameras and I’m sure more pictures will be posted as people settle back in at home and have time to sort the pictures out.
Mika did so well on our two week vacation/road trip. We left Washington for Missoula on Saturday and from there spent a couple days in South Dakota before continuing on to Ohio for the dog show. Mika proved to be a great travel companion. At the show she took third place, she did a little better in practice the day before but it was all good expirience. From the show we spent a couple days on Lake Michigan and then headed home.
There were so many Alta Tollhaus folks at the show which made the event a great time. I have more pictures that I will share later of all the other dogs, but here are some of Mika on the show day, the second picture is of her and her new friend Aiden:)
Mika got her VP1 rating this weekend under SV judge Friedrich Gerstenberg in Surrey, BC at the 2017 West Regional Conformation Show and Breed Survey. This is her second showing in the baby puppy class and I am pretty sure she doubled in size since her last show in Idaho. We were able to do a couple practice laps first which seemed to really help.
This is the only picture I have found so far. I did see someone taking pictures of her in the ring, so I am hoping more will show up in weeks to come.
Mika was entered in OG Idaho’s Fall show, she was awarded VP2 by Judge Helmut Koenig. Though she was the youngest puppy, she performed very well in the ring.
It was a crazy day, we left the house at midnight, drove 8 hours to the show, stayed for 2 hours and then drove home. Thank goodness for coffee! Such good experience for Mika; she got the hang of it really quick. We are hoping to attend the NW regional show this weekend.
