Ziva’s latest not so fun adventure.

Ziva recently sliced her paw very deeply before her class at an agility trial.  I could not stop the bleeding so we wrapped her up in a diaper and off to the vet. They had been doing some renovation at the site and since the slice was so clean we are wondering if one of the workers may have dropped a blade from a cutting tool used on either the drywall or carpeting.  She has been getting lasered & wrapped  every other day and finally we are starting to see some granulation tissue filling in-yay!   We will have missed 3 trials and it looks like the late December trial will be it for us for the year since there were only a few more local trials before winter set in and then that was it until March 🙁

Here I am waiting to get my foot looked at.  Mom needs to clean her floors, look how dirty my bandage is!

I hope that I can start to do things soon!  Hanging in the house is BORING!!!!

Ziva at the Alaskan Malamute Agility trial

We were having company over labor day weekend, but I managed to sneak a day in on Friday to play agility.  Ziva had a Q and 3rd placement in Master Standard behind 2 MACH dogs that are now showing in preferred and a GREAT Jumpers run.  Unfortunately I sent her over the wrong jump, so no double Q 🙁  She is always so consistent, but my nerves get in the way, so I need to get my act together to complement her good work.

Sent her over the wrong jump so no Q

Agility – Ziva’s 1st year

Hard to believe it was just a year from ACT 1 to Excellent for this team new to agility. On to Masters! Good girl Ziva!

She always tries everything I ask of her.  She has been an amazing first competition dog for me as we both work our way through all of these new experiences.

Ziva at the Western Lakes Training Club Agility Trial

After picking up 3 trick dog titles the day before,  Ziva was was entered June 9th and 10th at the Western Lakes Training Club agility trial in Buffalo, NY.

On Friday she finished 2 titles in one day!  She qualified on Friday in Excellent standard , but no one was available to video the run 🙁

Her second class of the day was Jumpers and she qualified with a first place.  The video of that run is posted below.

On Saturday, she was moved up to Masters.  In standard she had an excellent run, but I got her in a bad spot coming off the A-Frame and she knocked a bar, so no Q.

In Jumpers she qualified with a 3rd place and her 1st PACH points!
