Dan and I took Oso to the vet yesterday and he weighed 69 pounds. When we took Oso to training Gustavo asked if this dog ate Oso and I knew what he meant. He has gotten so big lately and he is full of piss and vinegar with a big dog bark to go with the “tude”.
How old is he again?
I was so worried about Koda weight, right about 10 months, he stop the weight gain altogether, he is still 88 lbs at almost 15 months old.
Koda was 69 lbs at 5 months, btw.
Is Oso giving you the evil glare in that pic? lol
He will be 7 months old tomorrow. Yes, I think he is staring me down like “what are you going to do about it?”
That’s his movie star look. He will be 7 months on the 24th, they were born 11/24 on Thanksgiving day.
So he is only 6 and 1/2 months old? I must have miscounted!
He is a biiiiiig boy!!! My Dutch, his brother, feels like he weighs a ton when we have to lift him up into and out of the back of our Suburban, but he only weighs 64 pounds, and looks very long and lean, with ribs that can be felt but not seen. Oso was always the biggest W-kid.
Are you saying that Oso now has his adult-pitched bark? Dutch still has his high-pitched youthful bark. We met someone with an 8-month old GSD who told us that his dog’s “voice” changed almost overnight to the mature adult bark!
Yes he has a big deep voice and sounds serious. He is still trying to figure out what are real threats. Oso is very affectionate and loving but wants to. Be tough. We really wanted a watch dog so we are happy with him.
Batman was 66 lbs at 6 months — I remember he gained 6 lbs in a single week!
Then his growth started to taper off a little — he was 69 lbs at 7 months and 78 lbs at 8 months. He’s almost 9 months old now, and probably around 80 lbs.
Josie, I hope he gets close to his final weight/size at 10 months like Koda did! That would be great. Because the larger-sized crate won’t fit in my apartment.
I don’t remember Batty having a high pitched bark. He was basically mute for the first 5 months of his life, and then one day emitted a “big boy” bark. His bark has gotten deeper and louder in the last month though.
The dog that ate Oso looks awesome, by the way. I’d keep him!
