Ilea was weighed today at the same time as two weeks ago when she weighed 15 pounds and 11 ounces. Today she weighed in at 21.5 pounds and still has has a youthful waist. It is obvious she has gotten taller and longer and has been getting lots of play exercise with Lisa. She goes in for her second round of inoculations this Saturday. On March 9th she has a first play date with the two most active pups in a Golden litter her age. Then on March 13, she starts a formal puppy socialization and leadership class. She is a very smart little girl who is starting to learn several fun things. She gives a running recall when I clap my hands no matter where she and Lisa are or what they are doing even if she cannot see me. She will sit and wait for her food and allows me to finger it or even remove it. I have a small black stuffed toy dog that rides on an Remote Controlled jeep. She is learning to get over her “fear” of the strange critter. Very soon we will get serious about turning her into a retriever.

Hi, Keith! We have Isa, Ilea’s sister. These pups are growing like weeds! I’ve been wondering, how do you pronounce Ilea’s name?
Hi Jil,
Like I-LEE-AH if I am being formal; otherwise, I drop the “I” and go with LEE-AH.
How far up North is Isa? (We are a few miles north of Midland in Michigan and have lotsof snow.) Do you have a current weight on her? Are you feeding the Prairie beef and barley?
We’re in Leelanau County, near Traverse City. OK, I’ve got the pronunciation correct now–we weren’t sure whether the middle syllable was Princess-Leia-like, or not. Thanks for clearing that up!
Her weight Monday was 20 lbs. Yes, we’re feeding the Prairie Beef & Barley. She’s doing well on it.
Her first puppy class was last night. She was unsure of the other pups (at least 4 Labs in the class) for the first 5 minutes before class in the parking lot, but I let her take her time and get comfortable–then she was fine. 🙂 Sounds as though you’ve got lots of fun stuff planned for Ilea!
Hi Keith,
We were wondering how to pronounce her Ilea’s name too. Great to have the answer.
Ivan goes to the vet for his second vaccinations on Tuesday so we will let you know how much he weighs then.
This blog is great for us to stay in touch with each other and with Julie and the whole Alta-Tollhaus family.
@Lynda I am still wondering about J-boy. Have either of you, or Julie, heard anything about him?
@Keith
I believe J-boy is the one you see as “Singer,” out in California.
Thanks.@Jil
Yes, Jil is correct. J-Boy is Alta-Tollhaus Just a Singer (“Singer”) and is on a farm in warm, sunny CA where he is going to do herding like his mommy.
Hello everyone. J-boy is now Singer (Alta Tollhaus Just A Singer). He is in California but not on a ranch, just working on one hopefully. My name is Rich and if any one of you would like to get/keep in touch I can be reached at godfreyrich@hotmail.com. I am enjoying looking at and hearing about all the other puppies (Ivan, Ilea and Isa). Singer is doing great and loves getting out to the ranch. Although it does get him very tired which is great for us (we get a break).
