Dolphin stranding on Cape Cod

February 1st, 2012 5 comments

Unfortunately it has been a very bad year for dolphin strandings on Cape Cod. Today  the Brewster Police received a call about several dolphins in distress on the Brewster bayside beach. I responded and found six dolphins on the sand flats and three more circling in very shallow water. The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) has a marine mammal stranding network that responds to all such standings. IFAW was contacted and came to the scene. All nine dolphins were alive and removed from the beach. They were placed in the IFAW transport trucks where they were examined by a veterinarian. The animals were transported to the ocean side of the Cape and all were able to be released. I have posted a link to an article in the Cape Cod Times.

My son-in-law, Brian is turning into a darn good dog trainer. They are on course to get their BH this year, and maybe their schH 1 (IPO 1) later in the year.

VACCINATIONS: What You REALLY Need To Know!

February 1st, 2012 29 comments

I felt so bad for Beverly being worried about taking her new pup out and about that Julie asked me to share these sites with you!  I’ve been waiting for studies about vaccinations for 17 years and apparently so has Dr. MOS (bless his heart)!!!!!

It takes a little time to read the articles and watch the videos, but in the long run, you may literally be saving your dog or your puppy’s life!

Sites for Dog’s Naturally Magazine and articles from Catherine O’Driscoll.
